Home swap holidays

After watching The Holiday over Christmas time I've been thinking about doing my own home swap holiday. I had a peek at a site yesterday & the destination I would like to go to has requested my county as 1 of 3 counties they want to go to in the UK.

A lot of peeps keep it very open so I'm very interested now :green:

Has anybody on here been on a home swap or know of anybody who has?

One of my clients did. It actually worked really well. A new Zealand family stayed in her house and everyone had a great time. Her house was left clean and tidy and there were no problems.
Suffolk is lovely (I looked at a house to buy in Rendlesham once), you would have no trouble finding swaps

We're about 20 mins from Rendlesham but it is pretty out that way, with all the forestry.

Seems like a good opportunity to have a long haul holiday but without the pricetag :green:

It was a beautiful house (called the red house) I love the area and my persian breeder lives near Diss, so have been up there a lot over the years

We did a house swap several years ago with a family in Cape Cod MA and it was amazing. They had full use of all our stuff (ie the car) and we had full use of all their stuff - which was much much more exciting! the had a pool and stuff. Our house was left very clean and tidy and there was no damage at all. Sadly I did not meet the love of my life unlike the extremely cheesy film. Ah well perhaps next time.

That's the advantage of going somewhere further afield, they often have much more exciting things going on.

A few of the houses I've been looking at have fabulous gardens with swimming pools. One or two even have regular maids/housekeepers to do laundry & such like :green:

Ooh go for the one with the maid service!!!! That sounds marvellous! Lx
