Honestly, how long is the wear with Gel II?

I am a beauty therapist that specialises in the natural nail, so talking as someone who puts this on the natural nail only, we are having fantastic results.

I bought Gel ll to see what all the fuss was about. I can't keep anything on my nails over about 2 days. I literally slapped it on using my existing products. I removed perfect gels 2 weeks later. Nail condition wasn't good, it was fantastic, so I reapplied. Two weeks later, I did it again, and again. Without fail, it lasts me 2 weeks. I put a pic on my facebook page www.facebook.com/blissandbeautyltd and two clients spontaneously uploaded their own pics of nails that I have done.

Just for your info as well, I don't wear gloves to do manis, but the topcoat with Gel ll is acetone resistant.

I love it!

Hi Vic
Thanks for replying. I haven't been established very long but I am quite passionate about natural nails and against any buffing, soaking etc or anything that damages or weakens the natural nails.

I only use cnd shellac at the moment but find that it doesn't last two weeks with everyone so a few days ago k started looking into gel II. But some techs were saying they needed to buff the natural nail first to get proper adhesion. I don't like the thought of buffing the nail first so stopped looking into it. Do u apply gel II with no buffing??

Many thanks

I have never buffed prior to application. I sometimes buff for removal but literally take off the shine. Nails have, without exception, been in excellent condition on removal.

Ok thanks 😃 may look into it more

I'm trying not to be wowed by it having spent a fortune on CND Shellac but it's freaking amazing.

I'm having a few hiccups on removal but I'm hoping the conversion course will remedy that.

A few friends and myself for guinea pigs and without fail, nails have come been in brilliant condition post removal.

I can feel a proper spend coming on after I've done the conversion.

:Scared:

I tried it for the first time at Christmas, I didn't buff the nails and removed them the other day after 26 days of wear!

I'm OPI GelColor trained too and I'm loving Gel II so far. I've only used it on myself (got first application tomorrow!) but yes, loving it.
Although you don't buff with GelColor either so that bits the same but the no base coat is such a plus!

The official guidelines for Gel II are that you need to buff prior to application but you are literally just tickling the nail plate with a 240 or higher grit. Having said that many techs including myself are finding there is no need to buff prior to application. I only have 1 client that I have ever felt the need to buff on as she suffers from very oily skin and hair. Application is an absolute dream and removal is incredibly easy once you've got the hang of it.

Polish II is the matching 'regular'polish to it's Gel II counterpart. It's lovely to apply, the colours are a true match and it's easily a week wear.
