How do I get on google maps search?

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help - I have done a quick search but with no joy.

For example if I type into google "lash extensions Kingston upon Thames" as well as some websites, a map box with some pin pointed on there also pops up. Not mine tho How do I get mine to appear on there? I've registered on google places...not sure what else to do??

I did this a while ago, im not very technical so I cant recall how I did it.

I googled & did it step by step it can probably be done quicker than the way I did it!

I do remember I had to set up a gmail account tho, & I got a code in the post to enter online.

Edit. Sorry I see youve already registered, il leave the link for future searches thou, have you received your activation code in the post and made your place live? If you log into your google account you can check if its live or what any problem might be
