Hi!

I'm new to this board and wil be doing my training next month in L&P. How long after you complete the training did you feel confident doing the nails. Also I want to go mobile, how long did it take to get established if you are a mobile technician?

Thanks

Look forward to geeking with you all!!
xx

I always give the bench mark of a year and of course more education than just a foundation course ... before you will be feeling confident and doing really good competent work.

My best advice is always to do/start out for a year in a salon as a junior. It will pay you in the end to do it this way where you will have supervision, colleagues who can (hopefully) answer your questions ... comradeship (its lonely out there being mobile on your own and no one to ask) etc.

After this apprenticeship time THEN decide if you want to go mobile, progress in the salon as an employee or maybe even chance your arm at opening your own space within a busy salon.
You have the potential to make much more money in a salon environment than going mobile.

I totally agree with Gigi...as that is the way I did it!
After a year to 18 months in a salon I started on my Masters training with Creative, and the combination of experience and further training gave me the confidence to strike out on my own.

To put a time on it can be confusing though as mobile techs or part tme tech's may not do as many sets of nails in a week as a fulltime salon tech. Therefore I always say it takes roughly 80 - 100 sets of nails before you start to feel confident. It is up to you how long that takes.
