How many of you light candles when giving a body treatment?

I am about to do a room out in the salon to provide holistic body treatments and would like to use candles whilst giving a treatment. Is there any health and safety rules to putting candles on in the salon.

Hi Divaa, I don't but only as I am not allowed to use them where I work, I have a lamp that has a low light bulb in, even when doing mobile I don't use them, although I have asked and most do not like the smell, or are worried about fire. I have seen candles that are run by batteries, they look quite effective.

Hi

Those phillips ones look great.

I light candles and had left them on while doing a leg wax. Unfortunately my notice board fell off the wall and sent the still lit candle skidding across the floor. There was melted candle wax across the floor and it had spilt everywhere.

Luckily the force blew it out but I hate to think what might have happened. I am looking for alternatives now as I have also walked off and left them burning - stupid I know.

It is surprising how dangerous they really are and the notice board was a fluke but could have been so much worse.

Not going to be using them anymore.

i use the phillips candles, they are brilliant!!!! well worth the money, im pretty sure its something like 25 pounds for 3 candles and the base to charge them. once they are fully charged i think they can be left on for 24 hours.

much safer, peace of mind for us all when carrying out treatments......and they look great! all my clients ask about them! would definately recommend them.

xx

You can also get little led night light type candles from places like b&q or the pound shop. They look lovely last ages and are safe. They only cost a few quid for 4 i think.hth.xx
