I know this is a silly question but we've hardly been taught anything at college about makeup and now I have to do three practical assessments! My question is this - when applying lipstick to a client what do you ask her to do with her lips?! :o

Thanks in advance!

I just get them to open their mouth slightly, and then I use my fingers to move the lips to where I need them to be. I stretch the lip slightly to get a good coverage too.

I just ask them to open their mouth slightly but relaxed then get them to open it a little wider to get to the corners. With the mouth wide open you should be able to see a continuous rim of lipstick. Make sure you fill in with your lip pencil and not just add to the rim.

Thanks guys! Although my model for this evening has just emailed me to say she can't make it
