How would you remove gel off acrylics without removing the acrylics?

I've painted gel over my acrylics, and wondered if there was a way of removing the gel without losing the acrylic.
Not sure there is a way but advice would be appreciated!

Just buff it off x

as above just file it off. I use my efile or you can use a hand file
