Hi everyone,
I'm looking at booking a hol in jamaica this month but am a little worried about the hurricane that recently went over. Does anyone know if there was a lot of damage and would it be a bad time to go there??
Thanks in advance for your help xx

Recent news reports stated that Jamaica was lucky enough only to be brushed across by the recent hurricane, but I think that it's well into hurricane season in that part of the world at the moment anyway ... apparently Hurricane Felix is on it's way to Belize and Mexico as we speak.

I would be more concerned about the political unrest in Jamaica just now.
I am sure I heard in the news yesterday that in the run up to their elections this week 7 people have been killed in various demonstrations.
All that and Hurrican Felix...I think I would be put off.

oh I didn't know about hurricane felix. Don't think I will risk it then! Will keep searching for another holiday xx

Noodles right, hurricane Dean only brushed by Jamaica last month. Hurricane Fleix is currently heading straight for Belize and is due to hit tomorrow...I have family who live in Belize, they have all been evacuated to somewhere safe as everyone is preparing for the worst.

The news channels such as Sky News have good coverage on whats going on.

xx
