Which is the best machine to buy-the 550w or the 700w?

I understand that with a higher wattage the machine can cope with a higher amount of tans in one go and is less likely to overheat.

Yep the higher the wattage the better the power and therefore the better a machine will cope under load conditions.
Of course there are many other considerations to make when selecting a machine....needle size etc
