Does anyone know if there is such a thing as an hypoallergenic eyelash and eyebrow tint? I have just done a patch test for my training in a few weeks and I am itching like mad! Also does anyone know if they do a hypoallergenic eyelash perm solution too? I can get a model but I really want my lashes dyed and permed! Has anyone found one which is good? The one I had was Ellisons. Lx

Hi Lucy
when I was training to be a beauty therapist I learnt that if a patch test was positive, there could be a number of reasons such as menstruation and I was told to wait a few days and do the test again. I am not aware of any hypo-allergenic patch tests though, hope this is helpful :)

Id try the more expensive ones such as reflectocil also try just a blob of peroxide on your skin because if its that causing the itching then you will not be able to use any of them.
Perm is a different lot of ingredients altogether so you need to do a patch for them too and i think they are also basically the same stuff so if allergic to one allergic to all.
You maybe able to get away with eyelash dye by not putting it to close to the skin so it doesnt touch. Then wiping away from skin as much as possible with cotton buds.
I must say in the many years ive done tinting i have never actually had anyone suffer a very bad reaction other than a bit itchy or prickly and that goes down within hours better safe than sorry though and i must say if i did have a client who had itching after a test i wouldnt do with the products that caused it.

Hi Guys

I think I will see about getting some different ones to try cos I really want my eyelashes tinted as they are so pale I wonder if it would make a difference! I think the Ellisons is the one they use where I am training (I'm assuming so cos it was them that sent me the sample for the test!) so ifI do find one I will just take it along with me. Bit concerned about doing it again cos my god was it itchy! My arms would have been raw i I had had more time to scratch them  (luckily I was mad manic at work today!) Lol Lx

Sorry me again!

Just to ask another related question - how long do you chaps reckon I should leave it before I do the patch tests for the permng stuff? I have only really just stopped itching today - this afternoon really! How long do you reckon I should leave it b4 subjecting myself to this torture again? How long do you think b4 it may just flare up cos its not quite better? Lx
