Long story short...I have completed BioSculpture Training (although 3 years old) and now about to do L&P with Creative...but my confidence is shot to pieces.

I feel I need a mentor in the business and there is a salon close to me that I was going to approach to see if the owner would allow me to volunteer my help so that I could watch her doing nails (I would offer to help out around the salon).

She also does MINX (which I do) and CND nails but I'm worried about approaching her as I'm not sure if this is the customary thing to do in the industry (I've been an office worker for 16 years so this is a bit of a career change)

Any advice would be greatly received..I'm going no-where trying to learn by myself and feel I'm flapping about due to lack of guidance and support (until I found CND that is:hug:)

Hi hun :) are you doing a conversion or foundation with L&P with Creative?

Firstly you are in good hands either way, and secondly, It is a very private service I find doing the job we do,,,I find it would be okay if I had somone just sitting there and maybe writing questions down and later asking me would be okay,, but I find I like to concentrate on my client on sometimes get carried away,,,

xxxxxx

Its a conversion course I'm doing and really looking forward to it as I can already feel the difference in the teaching/training just in the short time I have been in touch with them.

That's a good idea about writing down questions too, I will keep that in mind. Thanks for the reply, I'll keep this thread posted if I pluck up the courage to go ask her :)

Hun I am doing some one to one next week with Creative and believe me I have my little list of things and questions I will be asking,,,only way you learn hun,,, I have my paper and pencil at all times, believe me my hubby laughs at me as sometimes he has found me writing things down at strange times,,, NAILS, NAILS, NAILS he says lol xxxx

Good on you for doing a CND conversion, on the whole you will find a huge amount of support but then it comes down to you and your faith within yourself. You are one doing the nails after all. I wish you all the best

I am my own worst critic...there is a thread on here tonight about rude customers...I am my own rude customer lol never bloomin happy with th work and picking fault where there is none :irked:

Hello
I asked a CND nail bar if I could spend time with them.
The owner was great, said yes of course you can. I loved it, it was great, I just watched, asked and learnt.
So I say go for it
Mel
