hey..

ive started doing my acrylic nails, ive done a few sets now on models.
they dint turn out to be perfect but they were okish.

Last friday my mate came to do my nails and she used my products. she started to apply the overlay and noticed the tips were going yellow, i never saw this happening when i was doing them on my models.
could this be because of the product or a contaminated brush?

Why did this happen when she was doing my nails?
Does any one know why this happening?

Two most common reasons for product to yellow that I have found is--contaminated brush and a person that tans in a tanning bed. No joke! The tanning excelerators will quickly turn your whites yellow if not sealed with a UV sealer and washing the tanning products off immediately. If it is your brush, it can be kind of a pain to get it clean again. Dipping, and pinching in a wipe until all the yellow is gone then keep the brush either hanging bristle side down or flat. This way no used monomer soaks back up into the monomer, which is the easiest way to contaminate a brush.
Pick your poison and see if one of these scenarios fit your situation. HTH!

hey..

it wont be the tanning bed thing as im brown enugh lol..

i'll try what you said about the brush and see if it works if not ill have to but new brush and products..
thanks for your help.:D

I think there is a quick way to tell if its the brush. Dip it in clean monomer and wipe it on some kitchen towel / couch roll / lint free pad. If it leaves a yellow streak, its the brush. If not, well, i take it your friend is a qualified tech so she knows what she's doing?

Dont think you'd need to replace products if your brush is contaminated xxxx

Gotta agree with that, I doubt it is the product. Just the brush.

hi..
yes she a qualified tech.. and ive tried what you told me to it has left no yellows streaks..she did say that it may be my products as they seem to have given me some cheap make products..
