the reason i ask is because i seen my mother go to several salon
who promise they can fix it and dont .
one lady left the bleach on 15 minutes and told her she was done
and her hair was orange and in a few days it will get lighter .
dont want to make it a long post but why do they promise they can do it when they cant ?
i seen girls who get thier hair done and i ask and they always tell me they went to salons in new york or philly and there hair is the same color as me and my moms
im in charleston

so how do i know what to say or what to ask for and get what i i actually want is there certain salons to stay away from ?
not trying to be rude or anything just need to know thanks

Hi, from a nearly black base to light blonde
its very doubtful that any decent salon would lift it so very high,
as to do so may compromise the hairs condition

( perhaps these girls you have seen are different base colour than you ?)

Lifting hair with bleach from a very dark base to a very light blonde
can quite easily ruin the condition and cause breakage and damage

Take the photo with you and get some test pieces done first
ask them to lift it as light as they safely can

You may not get the blonde you want ,

but this way you can see if the salon can do it to your liking or not

a good salon will perform these tests for you and perhaps tone it to a nice acceptable shade of blonde
it still may not be as light as you desire
but it wont be ruining the condition

also you must be really honest about your hair and its past history
eg: wether there has ever been any blonde put on it before
and then covered back up with brown
as this is hard to shift and may greatly influence any colour result,

Have you thought about just having the top layers done
with a few decent blonde panels placed just under the top layer ?
so that you wont have to have it retouched with bleach so much ?
this way you dont see the regrowth,
and if you have regular trims it will keep the condition nice

then you could
use a few blonde weft extensions for the under layers , this would be far better for the condition

Or another option would be go have done to a really nice brown colour and then have some ver light blonde extensions scattered through it too,

I bet that girl in the picture cheats with some weft extensions under neath too lol

i thought it may have a few extensions too! also other factors can influence how light a blonde you can go such as amount of red in the hair and coarseness . id have them do a test strand - but where theres bleach ( unless you r v light anyway ) theres breakage - it may be 1% or it could be 99% it probably wont be at first it will be later along the line after several root touch ups and hot sunny holidays by the pool so its really a big commitment in terms of care and maintanance to look this good
