I was wondering if anyone could help me?! I started work at a new salon which isn't very busy at the moment and who knows if business will pick up....? I've been offered the chance to rent a nail table for £75 per week. They are providing the equipment and I'll recieve 75% of the profit, is this a good deal considering sorting out tax and insurance??

I was offered a real good deal a couple of months ago. I was going to rent a table in a salon for £50 a week. I would provide everything, all equipment, products etc. I would also be in charge of taking my own money, I would just have the £50 a week to pay out.

I personally chose to turn it down because I have built a lovely salon with a great clientele and I thought I would lose a lot of my identity. I have to look for new premisies because my salon and some buildings next to it are going to be knocked down to make appartments.

Hope this sheds a little light onto the offer you have.

If it was me, shop around. It's always good to turn people down, they may come back with a better deal. If not, who cares? There are plenty of salons out there wanting good nail technicians. It has to feel like the right decision for you.

I'm not sure if it's a good deal or not hun, but it normally works that you are either:

A) renting it at say £75 per week and provide your own products

or

B) They provide and you pay them a percentage or they pay you a percentage.

It sounds a bit funny to pay rent on a table and give them a percentage.
What if you cant get on with their products?
What sort of advertising will they do for you?
Do you work your own hours?
Do they take appointments for you?

Have a search on here for renting tables and you'll find some more helpful info hun.

I think that sounds so odd! as the above poster says, you either pay them a fixed amount and all takings are yours, or you ONLY pay a percentage of your takings.

If it were me I'd run a mile, sounds like they dont know what they are talking about! xxx
