Hello geeks!

When I was at excel I watched someone doing a Jessica pedicure and they were using a machine to work on the cuticles, does anybody use this and is it good?

Thankyou!

yes yes yes, I use it and its excellent! You can use it for the cuticles, hard skin, buffing the nails. It's a brilliant machine, I highly recommend it! xx

Thanks, Im not a Jessica stockist, I dont suppose I would be able to get one without being one, so do you know anywhere else I can get one like it?

I think Ellisons sell a similar one. I'm not sure how it compares to the actual Jessica machine though because I haven't tried it but certainly looks the same! xx

One of my clients (a beauty therapist) uses it, but imho you can get the same if not better results by using a pushie!

xxxxx

Thankyou I will try ellisons.

What is a pushie?

hi shellie, just wondered if you can use your machine on wet feet whilst doing a spa pedicure or is it best on drier skin? Also, the machine that your talking about in the ellisons catalogue,is it the maniquick machine?? i should imagine that it really cuts down the time it takes to do a pedicure!

what is it exactly?? any link or pic please??

Hi Emma! I use it on dry feet for the hard skin and after feet have soaked for cuticles. This is my routine for pedicures:
  1. Spritz feet with santizer spray
  2. Wipe polish off
  3. Use machine to smooth hard skin
  4. Use exfoliator mixed with the salt scrub on DRY feet
  5. Soak Feet
  6. Take feet out, dry and apply cuticle gel
  7. Push back cuticles with machine on left foot
  8. Cut and file nails on left foot
  9. Smooth emulsion over foot, cover with towel
  10. Repeat steps 7, 8 and 9 on right foot
  11. Uncover left foot, massage
  12. Uncover right foot, massage
  13. Brush nails with nail brush and hand 'soap'
  14. Squeek nails clean with cloth
  15. Seperate toes with couch roll
  16. Paint
I hope that helps! Are you trained in Jessica? I'm not sure the name of the machine in the Ellsions catalogue ~ I can look tomorrow and let you know if you like? It does really cut the time down with pedicures xx

thanks for that shellie! im trained in CND but have been considering getting a machine as hand buffing and filing the hard skin gives me massive back ache!!! would you recommend this type of machine? the one i have seen in the ellisons catalogue are called maniquick but wasnt sure if many people out there was using them.Do you use the same machine for finger nails?!?!

A pushie is the metal tool used for pushing back the cuticles!?!

Yes, I do think it is a really good idea to stop us having to 'work' so hard on the hard skin. It's so satisfying cos you can see it all coming off!!!!! Yes I do use it for manicures too, my clients love it! xx

got a feeling this is just what i need,i think you may have convinced me shellie! just one last question i promise, are these machines suitable for infill when doing nail enhancements?

Thats ok, ask away ~ I like to help if I can! I'm not sure about the nail enhancements though because I don't do them! If you can get to the cuticle area then I'm sure it will be ok but best ask Jessica/Ellisons as they will know more xx

Well done! I'm not sure if you would need training or not ~ I did with the Jessica machine. It's quite easy but I suppose I can say that because I know how to do it. Hmmm, maybe ask Ellisons and see what they say xx

just had a quick look at this one and it seems really cheap, this always puts me off alittle as i think you get what you pay for. Also the other ones we have spoke about seem to be alot more professional and have alot more to them.(not really sure if we are allowed to keep mentioning prices and suppliers on this site!!! eeshk, hope im not in trouble!)

hi - really was to give an idea as to what the actual product is.

Don't think I would be happy using anything with a moving part without training.:)

I agree ~ try and get training with it if you can. I hope I'm not in trouble, didn't even think about not being allowed to mention names etc! Sorry!!!! xx
