I admire you honesty I really do.Most people would say oh that's awful,I can't believe that happens and then go get a mc Donalds or kfc a few days later.

I'm badly craving a kfc lol everytime I read this thread I just want one.I love kfc.I'm really not a fan of meat in general but I love a kfc xxx

Kfc is my absolute favourite lol. But i do see everyones point on how the animals are treated and it is terrible but, its just one of those things.

I've been put off KFC after seeing the picture of that brain thing at the start of this post x

Do they not shop in specialist butchers where the animals are slaughtered halal style and such? Xoxo

Most of the meat sold in our supermarkets is halal but they don't label it as such.

It's NOT just one of those things!

If people choose to not to buy this cruelly produced crap, producers would take notice. Hit em in the wallet they'd soon change their practices.

Burying your head and saying that factory farming is just one if those things is beyond naive and frankly really sad that you don't think you can change things.

How can you not care that a creature is killed for your food? Shocking.

I don't eat meat, but halal and
Jewish meat isn't something I would want to buy, so why is it slaughtered halal? If I were to buy my oh bacon or something I don't want it halal or Jewish, I want it normal.
I'm not racist but I really do think we are having other
Countries religion pushed down our throats, even down to meat, granted have a section for this kind of food in supermarkets, I have no problem with it, but I do when its being mixed with mine as I'm not Jewish, I'm not halal and I don't want to eat their stuff (meant in a nice way, but there isn't really much out there to suit my religion at all) xoxo

My advice would be if you don't want to eat halal then shop with your local butcher or farm shop - if you can only buy from the supermarket then buy only pork.

I'm not about to get on my soapbox about animal welfare I deal with it almost every day in my 'other' job

When I was in my early teens I received an email (one of those chain mail things) and it was about animal cruelty. Though not what the original poster said about de-beaking and valves and such, it's more about the way they treat the animals than how they farmed them.
The video that I viewed I will never forget, it was from an undercover investigation by a large organisation into how KFC treated their chickens, it showed what the workers in the cram-packed sheds were doing to the birds.

It was awful.

I have avoided KFC because I believe from this video that they treat the chickens very poorly, until I have evidence that they don't I will not eat there.

Yes, food should be kosher or halal but as was in the news, this hasn't been the case in some instances.

Plus depending on some people's faith (& pockets!) they might not buy kosher/halal they might just buy non pig / duck / shrimp etc etc products

Tomme, fear not, you will never have your bacon either kosher or halal. You can continue to buy your bacon in peace!

That is so funny lol. Halal pork pmsl!!!!

As for saying its just "one of those things" that animals are treated cruelty think of it another way. It's just one of those things that there are atrocities throughout this world but if you have a social conscience then you lobby for change :(

A life is a life is a life is a life,

, all life Shuld be valued as equal .
A bolt through the head and ending up on a dinner plate is bad no matter what way round you dress it,

As for what parts of the pore sole is in the bun well dose it make a big diffrence if its breast or brain ? What about sausages , haven't they always been made of "bits"
And wrapped in intestine ?

And The whole horse meat thing ,
why is it it's ok when you think it's a cow your getting...
Why is the life of a cow worth less than that of a horse , is it because we humanized them in some ways, with black beauty , my little pony and such,

As for sticking in some religion , well why not? Life is sacred why not honer that in some way, even if it is more a cleansing than a thankful ness,
There was a time not so long ago where family's or school meals would start with a prayer of thanks .

If someone doesn't believe in the religion it shuld have no effect , it shuld be no diffrent to you than the factory workers chatting smack about football while packing and processing your food.

Sorry I just really don't understand ,

Yeah we may have religion in foods but I remember in school we had assembly, sung hymns and said prayers and grace before meals every day. We may be all over other religions and we have moved away from our traditional religion and are now trying to please all religions. I don't believe chips can have a religion, a sexuality or anything like that.x

Some KFC are halal you will see the sign if go through drive threw, same with subways, KFC that are halal buy from halal factory's were they hook the chickens up and slit there throat while still alive, were English butchers slaughter houses stun them and then kill it, I stopped going KFC as it started getting horrible. X

I think that's very narrow minded really to be honest I live in an area that's popular amongst the Jewish community, so tesco have a large kosher section and the same for halal. If you dont want halal then dont buy it.

So I'd go go away on holiday so you not eat English food? Why should there jot be halal meat in supermarkets. I don't see how it effects you. There is still not halal meat being sold!! Very narrow minded

This thread has had to be edited, with some posts being deleted in view of them potentially being offensive.

Can we please get this thread back on topic, and leave individual beliefs and religious dietary laws to one side? Thank you.

I just re read my post and I've deleted it. I actually didn't mean to say not be sold at all, I meant they should let us know. I apologize if I upset anyone

Has anyone else heard this ' the chickens are genetically modified in tiny cages, no beaks or feathers and have a drip tube shoved inside them 24/7 to pump feed into them?? This is noway for anything to live unless its a plant . I've seen a Facebook post on this anyone else?

It is a myth...BUT there is a breed of chicken that has been genetically modified to grow really quick and at are ready for slaughter at 12 weeks of age they grow so quick that their legs cant carry their weight and they will die from starvation and dehydration because they cant get to their food and water, theyeven break legs from the huge weight htey need to carry. At 12 weeks old they are still babies , no wonder the meat is so tender. A neighbor of mine hatched a load of them and when I went to see them I thought they were huge fully grown chickens mixed in with his little chicks. I could not believe it.

They are widely used for fast food and and the supermarket industry
