hey Ladies,
i have done a quick search on this but havnt found what i needed.
im trained in lash perfect EE and i was using the sensitive glue when i first trained back in may, after feeling more confident i moved on to a stronger glue, i bought the lash perfect ultimate glue and also eyelash emporium glue both i found were great although the Eyelash emporium glue seemed to go a bit watery a runny, so when it came to renew glues i restocked the lashperfect.

although recently three of my very long standing clients have been complaining of reactions, nothing inflamed but just discomfort a few days after them being applied, one of them said that their eyes felt goopey and seemed to be watering and the other found that her eyes we sore too. my most recent client has said that the few days after having them infilled, she gets a blocked nose and is sneezing and is all bunged up and eyes watery.

has anyone had the same problem? i cant understand why the glue would be doing this now??? tbh it is due to be restocked, could this be the case? i dont want to restock it if its going to loose me clients.. should i go back to lash emporium glue???

bumping this as i need advice

Hi Bonnie,
I think you will find that glue is the number one problem in the eyelash industry. I have written a blog in here at Salon Geek which explains a lot about glues, and gives information on how to choose them. You might like to read it. It is called "How to choose your eyelash extension glue."

It could just be the cold weather.
I have one client who has extensions on all the time in the warmer months.
However, when it comes to the cold winter her eyes water a lot and her lashes just will not stay on.
Also, I think people wipe their eyes more when it's cold.
I use Lash Perfect glue and, touch wood, I haven't had any problems with it.
People have been rushing about for Christmas as well and are tired.
My eyes are sore when I'm tired and I don't wear extensions.
There are also a lot of colds going round.
Has it happened more than once on these clients?

You will find this when moving from a sensitive adhesive (slow setting) to a stronger adhesive (faster setting) the sensitive adhesive has no Odour as the fast setting ingredient has been removed. The faster setting adhesives the vapour is the faster setting. If that makes sense :s the vapour is attracted to moisture eyes nose throat so when they open their eyes the vapour will make their eyes nip slightly. Use your air blower for at least 60 seconds when you are finished applying and cost the lashes with a good coating of ultimate glaze this eliminates the vapour from the adhesive going to the eye and goes direct to the glaze droplets. Hope this makes sense it does in my head :D

The only thing the air blower does is blow the fumes away. Cyanoacrylates do not dry in air, they cure with moisture. A nebulizer to spray a fine mist will cure them.

Please excuse my ignorance but if they cure in moisture, why are we advised not to get them wet initially?

If you cure them with a super fine moisture, they are fine to get wet right away. If the moisture isn't fine enough, the glue will bloom.
I know this contradicts what most of us were taught, but our chemist, who is a cyanoacrylate specialist is very clear on the fact that it is actually moisture and light that cures the glue, not the air. I have been using moisture to instantly cure the glue for some time now, and it works like a charm.
Check out my Cyanoacrylate Blog if you like. It is full of information about the glue's we use for extensions.

Hmm that's very interesting - thanks, I will have a read!

Using your air blower at the end for a bit also lets the client know the treatment is over. Lash perfect ultimate glaze is a water based sealant it has very fine molecules so is perfect to pop on your lashes to eliminate the vapour from the adhesive. As its water based there is no build up so can be applied over and over :) perfect to retail also as its Probably the only proper moisture your lashes get while wear EE ;)
