i went along to an open day last week to apply for level 2 beauty, they no w say its not running but I could possibly get onto level 1 and then level 2 in september.

Will I get anything out of level 1? execpt a good grounding to add to or should I wait till sept and keep working unitl then.

I am a hairdresser and i have also studied level3 vtct so will I be boring with level 1????

Could you look at the specifications for the level 1 qual on the VTCT website? I would imagine if you have level 3 hair, you will find a level 1 far too easy. I work in an FE college and although don't teach either in hair or beauty, I know that Level 1 is broadly equivalent to GCSE grades D-G, level 3 is A level standard...bit of a difference.
Is there a reason level 2 isn't runnning?

they just said theyre not running it until september, althought its advertised in the prospectus.

hhhmmmmm what can I do unitl september???

My stepdaughter did level 1 Beauty when she was doing her GCSEs and to be honest, you will cover it all again in level 2, so to my mind there's not really a lot of point. Why don't you get a couple of good reference books and start on the theory, it'll give you a good head start.

I did level 1 just to kill sometime before the next september as i had missed the deadline for level 2 for the previous september. I found it gave me a good grounding and a head start than other people on the higher courses. I would say if you are pretty clever and can pick things up easily just start on level 2. I got good gcse grades but basically just did it to start studying beauty as soon as i could.
