Im not aware of any level 4 beauty therapy, i think the next step after your level 3 is the PTTLS teaching qual? I may be wrong hun, possibly another geek will b over to correct me xx

You need an HND course for level 4 or a Spa Management. Sorry, do not know of any in your area - maybe try google?

Birmingham college uni does this course. You need to go via ucas as its a higher education course and it will list all uk courses so you can choose where in the country you want to be

Sent from my GT-I9300 using SalonGeek mobile app

As far as I know level 4 is mostly spa management, and not essential to get a job in the industry. It's a relatively new qualification, only a handful of colleges offer it at the moment.

Hi, I'm studying level 4 FDA in salon business management at UCB and they also offer spa management too. I struggled to find any info when I was looking so just let me know if you need any info xx

hiya thank you everyone for the replys !

i was thinking that beauty level 4 was Aesthetic Therapy, but being doing some more research and its getting confusing :grr: with spa management. really really hard to go tho what Google has bought up!

if any one knows how to get down the aesthetic therapy route or has done so them self's, would be great to hear from you! :D

thank you everyone, im really wanting a career change.

Aesthetics is what I want to do and I'm seeing that most places want you to have some kind of laser background. This is why I'm doing the degree as we will cover laser. You could try calling somewhere you could see yourself working sand just ask then what experience they expect. They may even train you up themselves.

I'm Also doing this course, each place is slightly different in what treatments you train in. Feel free to message me if you want to know anything

Go to VTCT website and tap in VTCT level 4 beauty. It's there level 4 is an exciting course you'll do IPL (laser treatments) hair removal and light therapy. Also possible to do salon management and or spa therapies. Not all areas run this course, so you may have to travel if you really want to do it. Another consideration could be employment with a salon/spa which does in house training in the modules you're interested in.

Well this is an old thread that seems to have been bumped today...

Since I feel it's relevant in spite of its age I'll add my 2 cents.

If you want to know what courses are offered definitively go to the website of the awarding body: edexcel, vtct, city & guilds etc.

They will list every qualification they offer & approved centres. You will be able to examine the exact structure of the syllabus & make an informed decision about training. You do not need to apply through UCAS.

I have recently completed level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy awarded by VTCT. So it is available, is possible, it can be done.

It's the more clinical end of beauty therapy - stuff like dermatology, advanced electrical epilation, micropigmentation (spmu) & so on.

VTCT offer awards in individual modules of this course, for instance if only 2 modules appealed, or you can do the whole qualification & receive a diploma on completion.

This course is not only enjoyable but would definitely improve employability & earning potential.

A level 4 qualification just means it is equal to in learning that of the first year of a degree/ HNC NQF education credit system. Therefore it would be difficult to give accurate advice in regards to courses as they can vary greatly. Some may specialise in management others maybe more practical i.e you can do level 4 sports massage.

The only thing that they have in common is they CAN be transferred and used as exemptions for later study in relative degree study.
