I know this thread has probably been done over & over but i want to see if theres any new ideas or anything...

What little extras do you offer to make your salon or service stand out? Or what makes a good salon? I just would like to make some small changes so people get the ultimate experience. E.g ofering herbal tea instead of regular. things like that.

Any ideas or tips would be great

Thanks in advance

I've always been a fan of the little things. I think people notice them- and they can give an advantage for the real trick of creating a sustainable business- which is client retention.

Just off the top of my head- one of the things the salon I own do is we went and bought a lot of wholesale umbrellas (and the next stop is getting them branded- imagine loads of umbrellas around town with your logo on?- free movable billboards! :) and give them to people who have just had their extensions done on damp days. 90% of them bring them straight back next time they're in...and the ones that dont- so what- they're only cheap.

Thats just a small example of course...but lots of little things certainly add up.

I always give a pair of pink marigolds to my new nail clients, which gives them that extra incentive to look after they're lovely new nails.

This is a great idea - wonder if you could get your name/logo on the gloves somehow or make them a bit original?

Never thought of that, Im going o look into that, thankyou x

this is a bit of an obvious reply but "little extras" for me are things like a wee scalp or foot massage when eyelash tints and face mask are on... i'm mobile now but i used to work in a salon where we were literally bouncing from room to room and leaving clients with masks on to nip out and do a "quick brow wax"... also, i'm a bit of a massage giving junkie and you'd be surprised how popular simple things like a really hot towel placed on the back after a massage can be - everyone comments on it and its a great way to signal the end of a treatment... i also worked in a salon where every morning, a girl would come in, cut up some fruit like an orange, apple and strawberries and put it on wooden barbecue skewers and it was really sweet to see the clients faces light up when you brought it in with their glass of water at the end of a treatment xxx
