Look Mum I'm Swimming!

This has nothing to do with anything except a mummy's pride.

My 7month old labrador puppy swam for the 1st time last night, he normally only jumps in little puddles he never ventures into a lake/sea/deep puddle.

Last night i threw a stick into a lake (man made swan lake so it's not too deep i could have went in for him) He was skirting round the edge and looking at me as if saying 'oh no i can't get the stick without going in' Then he just jumped in and started swimming and he LOVED it i couldn't get him back out he swam right round the lake then chased some ducks in the middle then swam and hid in the reeves.

I don't have kids so my pup is like my baby, i just felt the need to tell you all about his first swim as i've exhausted my friends and family with the story.

Oh and he retrieved the stick!

(yeah i know i'm a total weirdo posting about this but i'm proud of him)

I was having an Ann Summers party and the dog went for a lie down on my bed and i had dumped a set of handcuffs there earlier that were left over (Everyone was wearing them at the party round there belt).

When i went up to check on him he was so cute i couldn't resist slipping them on him for a photo, they were really slack don't worry.

Our basset is 2 1/2 years now and i still can't get him to swim! Wimp!

My dog is petrified of puddles, ....Looks very funny seeing a massive rottweiller jumping around this puddle..He has never liked them...

Like when its raining he wont go out..he hates it,
It was hailstoning the otherday next doors dog was going mental running round the garden trying to catch it all...
Max had head down inbetween paws..Only moving eyeballs to look round lol..
W must be mad but we're planning a trip to the beach this yeah with him for the day, see if we can cure his fear lol

Awww, its such a lovely feeling, our dog 1 1/2 yrs old now, didnt want to know about swimming last year, kept on trying , but didnt want to know.Untill one really hot day took her to the lake...no still not interested...I turnt round , looking over the other way, and suddenly..plonk! she was in and off..hurrah!

I was so chuffed I couldnt get home quick enough to ring all the family and tell them.:lol:

My 7 year old daughter started swimming lessons 4 weeks ago, and got her 5 metres last week...so chuffed with her too.!

I just need to get my ass in gear with swimming , I hate the water personally, but very proud of my two babes I might add.
