Hey everyone, i have been reading your threads for a few weeks now but thought today i would finally post on here. ;)

I qualified as a beauty therapist in 2002 and done a bit of mobile work as soon as i left for a few years, just massage , facials etc. When at collage i learnt acrylic tips and fibre glass nails but i am now doing an essential nail course on acrylic sculptured in the hope that i can make a living as a mobile nail tech. I just have a few questions....

Do u offer all types of nails? or just one or two different types? I ask because i dont really like tips and would prefer just to do sculptured but i dont want to reduce the amount of work i will get.

bit of a random one but, do u take a table around with you or do u just use the clients table?

What do you carry your products in? i want to be neat and make sure i have easy access to all the products and make sure the clients can see what colours etc i have. I plan to off nail art and air brushing too.

Also i am about to buy a drill and just wondered if anyone could recommend a good one for a left handed user?

Im thinking of offering not just nails, defo mans and peds but maybe waxing and massage too.
Thank you for reading this far if you have any tips or ideas for me that would be so helpful, Thanks Ronnie xx :D

I can do all types of nails, but my specialty is sculptured gels. I have everthing needed to do acrylic, wraps, tips, etc. but I don't remember the last time I used them. Once I show the potential client my nails--I usually don't have a problem switching them. For a table, I carry with me a small resin Cosco folding table that I got at a discount store. It is 18" wide and 3' long and my lamp clamps to it securely. For storage, I have 3 "train cases" that are wheeled and easily fit in my trunk. One for UV products, one for all other enhancments and one for natural nail care and pedis. Do a search for 'train cases' or 'portable cosmetic cases', they are all over the net. Organization is going to be your biggest key along with being professional in overal appearance. People take you more seriously if your equipment isn't in milk crates and you are not digging all over to find what you need. When making appointments always make sure you lay down ground rules: if there are children in the home--is there someone to take care of them? If there are pets in the home--is there somewhere they can be contained so they don't get in the way? Just expect to perform in the same type of professional atmosphere as you would if you were performing the service in a salon. I have a salon, but I do travel out of town to work 2 days a week and I do service homebound clients and keeping things professional makes things sooooo much easier.

I am a nail artisan and specialist .. I offer every type of nail enhancement system all done as an expert. I don't offer just the thing I like best as I wouldn't dream of limiting myself that way and I don't have the time to waste 'talking a client into something' they didn't want in the first place.

SCULPTED nails have their place and so do nails using tips and I do which ever will give me the best result for the client.

I can do twice as many clients in a day in the salon as going mobile so I would never do mobile by choice. I couldn't abide all that travelling and time wasted setting up and packing away never mind working in less than ideal conditions over a poof or ironing board in someone's house with kids and phones and other interruptions... definitely not something for me.
