Hi

I've gone and agreed to do a distant family members make up tomorrow. I said I'd go through her make up and see what I can do

Make ups not something I've got on my menu yet and is something i'm not going to be adding for a while.

it wasn't till after I got off the phone to her that I thought I haven't really got much tools but i'm sure i'll russtle up something

Just wondering if anyone has any tips for a mature skin. (she's 60). I've not done anyones make up since my college days and everyone was around their 20's so never worked on a mature skin.

The only thing I can think of is leaving out powder

Hi

here's a few tips for mature skin:

prep with moisturiser and then serum if you've got it, to provide a smooth base and avoid the makeup sinking into open pores etc.

you can still use powder on the nose but avoid under the eyes.

prep the eyelids with longlasting foundation + powder so that the eyeshadow doesn't go into creases

Use dark eyeshadow on a damp brush instead of pencil eyeliner for a softer effect.

Use a nice pink blusher on the apples of the cheeks to give her a more youthful fresh look.

Hope it goes ok.

thats great thanks

what sort of concealer would you use?

she has dark circles under her eyes. i was thinking about using purple on those areas but not sure how it would take to mature skin.

I would use a light reflecting liquid, creamy concealer and not a stick one as it will blend better.

You have to be careful with purple as it can make some people look bruised.
