Hi Guys

I qualified 3 years ago and to be honest haven't done as many nails as I should in that time, but I am very confident in what I do.

I would ideally love to rent a space in a salon, but having 3 small children it proves a bit difficult so I have now decided to go out on my own and do it properly.

Im not sure of what I need to do in terms of the buiness side, do I have to have a limited company? or can I trade under my own name or choose a name? Will I need a hefty sum of money to start off? I already have lots of equipment, such as all relevant tools and stock, mobile table etc.

Not sure of what comes next, so if any of you lovely ladies out there could give me a few pointers I would be really grateful

Thanks in advance
Keeley xx

Check out the biz geek as there are so many things you need to read and decide upon.
3 sml kids and your own business is ALOT make sure you are ready as sometimes I dont see my dog as much as I would like!

Mmm agree, be prepared to work hours you dont want to !

I suggest you start with family and friends, have a few flyers and cards printed then take it from there, maybe a website next etc. Renting a room is alot less headache than going mobile, you'll be more organised that way. You should defo start off as a limited company so you dont tie your company finances in with your private finances, that does mean you will need to get advice on tax etc. Take it one step a a time, you've done the nails, thats the hard part!
