Hiya guys,

At college on Monday we leant how to do the massage during a luxury manicure. I found this absolutely amazing and sooo relaxing. :) But our tutor did warn us that some customers don't like being touchy-feely, they don't like other people/strangers touching them, even if it's just holding their hand to paint etc! :Scared:

Have any of you guys experienced this? I think they're crazy, but I understand why I guess! :green:

When I first started doing nails I found touching clients hands a little strange, but by the end of my first full set, I had already got used to touching the client.

For me it helped that my first clients have been friends and family.

I would have thought that if a client had an issue with being touched then nail enhancements is not something they would opt for.

My guinea pig at home (the husband) hates having his feet touched and I use him as my pedicure practice and for him it's more 'endurance' than relaxing!

Hello there!
Maybe there is a very very small percentage of people that don't like the touching part (for the reasons you mentioned), but frankly it has never happened to me.
To tell you the truth, they actually crave for it because they find it very relaxing and no one has ever even come close to "complaint". :|
I'm sure that this won't happen often to you so don't worry!

Generally people who dont like being touched by others wont have treatments for that reason. The massage is one of the favorite areas in the manicure/pedicure that the clients enjoys the most. I have never come across someone who don't like being touched. A few nervous clients maybe but they are soon put at ease;) x

Thanks for your words of wisdom guys! Just wondered how to handle this if a clients gets a bit edgy about it! Hopefully won't happen to me though!

It's never happened to me before but I think thats because I always go through my procedure with the client so they don't get any surprises and jump out of their skin so to speak!!!

I agree with 'smiler13334' if they don't like being touched then they wouldn't be having the treatment or they would ask you to skip the massage if you have told them your procedure.
