Hi all

This is my 1st time here. I am a mobile hairdresser in scotland and looking for some advice.

Does anyone know if there is any kind of maternity pay that i could receive when we decide to start a family? I am self employed and pay class 2 national insurance.

My income protection doesnt cover for being pregnant, only for being ill etc.

Hope someone has some advice

i think you are entitled to statatory mat. pay. Speak to CAB they will let you know.

I thought it was Maternity Allowance you are entitled to when self-employed

Have a look online.. will bring up loads of information.

I call them both sat. mat. pay (as i was employed when i had my first, so its stuck) as they are approx the same amount each month. but self employed it's called mat. allowence.
