Minx on top of Shellac as art design

Hi I'v just started doing Minx and I'v read on some posts that some techs are using Minx cut outs on top of Shellac? Just wondering are you cutting little patterns out of the Minx to make an art design on top of the Shellac?
Just wondering if anyone has got any pics and is it popular?
