Hi, please can I ask if you guys use a mobile pedicure stool when out and about or do you simply use a stool? any advice would be great!! x

I have a couple of plastic stools from Ikea that were for my kids potty training but i have stolen them for this purpose! I usually sit on one and have clients foot on my knees. When i polish i have their foot flat on one.

I use my beauty couch and sit on a chair that folds down. No offence to anyone that uses a stool but i dont find it comfortable for my client and I dont want to have to give up working in 10 years because of a busted back.

Hi I use a couch and stool too, unless im not using the couch for other treatments, to save lugging it about, i will use my stool with them sitting in an arm chair.
Prefer them up on the couch, but it's nice sometimes not to have to take my couch in, as it is soooo heavy.:irked:x

Hi Guys, its reasuring to read that we all have the same questions/concerns when first starting out, and even nicer that geeks take the time to answer :), i had the same concerns re: pedi stools, LOL that sounds gross or mayb i've got a mucky mind . I'll rephrase that re: pedi treatments, thought about taking couch, fine if combining with treatments that require couch, but is it unnecessary wear and tear on our backs & couch if we take just for pedi?. I know that its comfortable for our clients (repeat bookings will hopefully follow), but has any tried those purpose built pedi stools with the attached bar which has a client padded leg rest on? (£36.at Capital Beauty). Also - think i should have started a new thread- does anyone use those manicure stools with drawers underneath and small work table attached. I want to buy the best available, and do so only the once but i dont want to end up storing white elephants that didn't work in the 'real world'.
Would be grateful if the experienced geeks out there could offer any pearls of wisdom.

Maybe a daft question, I have just qualified to do Mani/PEdi treatments and wondered........

Do you get the client to saok their feet first, then get them up on the couch? I can just see it being quite entertaining having a bowl of foot soak/water on the end of the couch in the way of everything...... I am probably the most clumsey person alive so I'm sure it wouldn't be long before it hit the deck!

I was thinking of offering a back massage in my massage chair while they soaked their feet for the Luxury Pedi and also wonder what you think of this?

I do this at work. Soak in a bowl on the floor and scrub, then walk them to couch.
I'm sure they would love a back massage at the same time. Sounds like bliss to me! xxx

Hi,
I too am looking at the pedi stool with leg rest and the manicure table.
Are these anygood for mobile, as really do need something better for pedicure's and also some clients tables are a little too wide, didn't want to spend loads as am currently training in waxing so will probably end up purchasing a coach too.

Yes I soak feet in foot spa/bowl first (And use exfoliant, getting all the 'wet' work out of they way), then get them onto the couch. My clients have never minded when I say, I'm just going to empty this and then take the bowl away (so I don't end up tripping over it!)

I use a couch too. Whilst heavy to carry in and out, it's much better for your back whilst carrying out the treatment.

Good Luck

I got a great table from www.lakeland.co.uk its a camping table that folds away and it cost £35 - perfect for manicures - i got the idea from somebody else on here - costs a fortune setting yourself up then just when you think you have everything you discover a load of other things you need lol x
