Hi
I've had a booking for a mobile mani and lip and chin wax. This is fine however i usually ask clients to come to me. Problem is the lady is in late 80's!! Would you take a couch for her waxing??? Or do it whislst she sits in chair?? Also nails would i need to take a mani table???

Hiya
Cant help with nails, sorry as i'm still practising, lol.
With the waxing due the lady's age i would go to her. Take the couch but ask her what would be more comfortable and wax accordingly.
My nan is her 80's and any facial waxing i do with her sitting up. She finds it hard sitting up/down, the couch would be near impossible for her.

A little Tv table works pretty well, really just something sturdy and at least spacious enough to fit what you need on it. If you don't have that option, I've done many a manicure at a kitchen table/whatever table I could use, just make sure to have lots of towels to cover everything. i haven't wrecked anybody else's tables, however I have taken the finish off my kitchen table upstairs, so you just want to be cautious. Set up like you would at home, making sure you can easily maneover around and not tip anything over. It is best if you have a table that allows you to sit directly across from the client, although I've also done the diagonal thing. You work with what you've got, ya know what I mean?

I am not a waxer, I do sugaring, so I'm not sure it's the same, but I would lay down a towel, or some medical paper, have her lay on a pillow thats under the paper/towel, then come from behind her and sugar. Sugaring pulls hair in the opposite direction of waxing though, so it may be the opposite for you. I would do it on a couch, or wherever you get the best access. For me, it would be hard to use a chair for this unless it was one of those chairs that reclined. Hope that helps!! P.s - If she is elderly, she will probubly let you know what position is most comfortable for her to get waxed in. If you sense she's one of those who'll sit through discomfort just to help you, just keep asking her if she's in an okay position of if she needs to move around. She will really appreciate this!

Hi I have a lady who has a heart complaint who comes to me in the salon and when doing her lip and chin I do her sat in the chair. It's much easier, obviously if it were legs etc she would need to get on the couch but something as simple as a face wax can be done with your client seated.

As for the manicure, where you dont normally do mobile I think using another table rather than a portable one is quite acceptable. No point in investing a portable nail desk when you have no intentions of regularly carrying out mobile treatments.Just remember to use a protective covering if using her table.HTH

Hi I have an older lady that I go to for waxing if she comes to me I get her to lie on the beauty bed but as it only takes couple mins i just get her to sit on a chair and just support her skin as normal when waxing. I would just take a fold down table that is big enough to do your manicure and heave products on the table too, cover with a towel and you will be fine x

Hi... i used to have a lady that was in her 80s and was blind and couldnt lay flat. i took my beauty bed the first time but i found that if it was for a quick wax it was easier and more comfortable for my ladies to lay on their bed (towels down first to protect their bed clothing) and have them lay the other way round... ie where they normally put their feet they have their head... even if you have to put lots of pillows underneath if they cant lay flat it is still easier and quicker that setting up your beauty bed which a lot of elderly clients find hard to get onto. They find it more comfortable too.
I always take my bed the first time though and i ask them which they would prefer as it is more professional - i have always had the client opt for their own bed though.
(Dont forget your extension lead though as plug sockets are always top end of the bed)
Once i knew what my clients preferred i then didnt bother taking the bed with me.

Leanne.
