Salon looks lovely !

I had the launch of my salon in September and the place was packed to the rafters from 5pm till 8.30 pm , I did invites with RSVP a week before so I had an idea of numbers.
Get in soft drinks too not everyone will have a drink.
You want to get money in the till on that evening and appointments in the diary ! I did a couple of things to help with this...

A list of special offers which had to be paid for on the night and the booked within the following 6weeks.

Everyone had a lucky dip voucher which gave them a discount on there next treatment, the discount varied from 10% off upto 50% off (only did 2, 50% off )
I also did 10% of retail.
Also everyone had a goodie bag to go home.

Good luck with it all.

My biggest fear with an open night/day is that no-one comes! Yours seems like a great sucess.

I want to do one and have little talks at various times in the treatment rooms. This will give people a chance to learn about treatments and ask any individual questions. Then offer deal for any treatments bought on the day. I love the idea of a lucky dip discount!

Good luck with your open day OP your salon is beautiful, I want to steal your salon desk lol x

Hehe thank you x

1/2 glass of champagne. On an average sized bottle I would say 7/8 glasses so work it out versus how many you expect to come. Cupcakes one per person also, then add 10 extra.
Have a non alcoholic drink available too.

Get posters out ASAP and cover your widows with a poster in the centre and block the rest out with a nice simple wallpaper to get interest and people to wonder what's inside.
Get a buzz going days before the opening and have a sign to say only x days left, change it daily.

Have family or friends there to help out with drinks, tidying, giving out price lists and cards as well as just generally chatting and showing people about.

Just to add too, your salon looks beautiful, well done and best of luck xoxo

it looks lovely! you should be so proud.

agree with tomme that you need a friend in to keep place tidy, nothing worse in open days than paper cases of cakes and plastic glasses left everywhere and ask them to walk around check everywhere, check no rubbish outside. have a big bin that you all know where it is.
with all them drinks make sure you have something to clean up spills with so there's no panic. be prepared and hopefully won't happen.

also, sounds dreadful, but keep an eye on all your stock. and also things like you and your friends purses, phones etc. it could be busy and you dont know these people.

have all your conversation starters ready. leaflets, colorpops with swaroskis and foils. make sure your qualification certificates are displayed for people to see.

the press coverage sounds great!
i"d be tempted to get any branding possible in there, imagine a pic of you filing the town criers nails with your logo biz cards in picture! lol

hth. good luck xxx

Why not make bellinis with your champagne to make the alcohol go further while giving the drinks that little bit more of a funky twist :) You could do virgin bellinis for those wanting a non alcoholic option :)

Thanks for the heads up on the floor :D

Salon looks amazing! good luck :)

I also got my son and his friend involved and had them as waiters ! The dressed in black and white and went around serving the canapés and drinks, my clients loved that as I have been talking about him since he was 5, now he is 15...
I really needed all hands on deck as everyone wanted to talk to me. I also had my Decleor rep there which helped with products.

No ideas of my own I'm afraid but just wanted to say your salon looks lovely, good luck  xx

Thank you every one! Keep the good tips coming and thank you all so much for yr kind words they are really appreciated! X x x x x x x 😊

Gorge salon!!

I would get everyone to fill out a registration/ competition slip with all their details on it when they come through the door...this way you have a good database of potential clients already. You can text/email everyone after the opening, encourage them to book, remind them of availability/ offers etc.

I've done this at wedding fayres, great for keeping in touch with people after the event!

Very best of luck to you!xx

Hi there - totally agree with everyone - salon is BEAUTIFUL!!

Now i dont know much about nails but agree with others offering guests a small gift, discount, or benefit to encourage them to visit your salon on another date. These offers could include discounted treatments, a free nail consultation (sorry i dont know if thats even a thing you have to do with nails!), or a promise of a luxury experience at a regular price. Put a time limit on the offer, such as 30 days, and ask the customer to set an appointment on the day of the opening if they can.

Vistaprint is amazing for little promotional extras, pens/fridge magnets with your details in little bags with teeny free gifts - a candle or something perhaps - great promotional items!

I totally agree with the spreadsheet of capturing details - this could be for newsletter blasts every month/quarter with promotions - make this an 'exclusive discount' list for people that leave details that day?

do you offer kids parties or treatments mini manis etc? if you do get them involved in the day and have things for them to do or teeny cute gifts? or a competition for a best picture of the new salon?

Link up with a local charity to give someone from the charity a nail makeover on the day - this encourages the charity to contact friends etc via facebook/twitter etc

Is there wedding fayres coming up in your area - invite the wedding coordinators along to sample/see what you can do offering discounts to their clients?

lastly a biggie for me with the previous jobs i have done is after care - its really good getting people in, bookings etc but to keep those clients old and new its all about after care - a huge email blast to everyone in attendance thanking them for their kindness, possibly a surprise promotion to thank everyone that attended - massive thanks on facebook/twitter - post loads of pics of the day to be tagged- put on instagram etc

sorry for the huge email hee hee your salon looks gorge and very personable so i wish you all the very best!

oooh one more thing - do you offer a special treatment or specialist nail application - could you have a big deal made - 'have you heard of.....see it carried out at my open day!!!' something to that effect on advertising and FB Twiiter etc

Thank you for all your comments guys, I'm a little bit stuck as to what to do, I went In today and by the end of the day...well...I can now say I am FULLY BOOKED back to back for the next 2 weeks with cancelation lists! All from Facebook pictures I uploaded and passing trade as well as recommendations!
I have spent thousands on the salon and could really so with getting some money back so what's your thoughts.... Do I hold back on the free gifts as I've already got the clientele and I'm thinking free gifts are pointless it's just spending unnecessarily or am I wrong? I've spent £20 on 15 lucky dip prizes and gonna put some vouchers in there. I've still gotta buy the champagne and cupcakes and I'm doing the 15 min testers. So I'm really worried about giving stuff away to get people in and then they wanna book in and can't get in for weeks...do u know what I mean?

I don't allow children under 5 in the salon or pushchairs due to space issues and health and safety so I don't do children's parties, and I don't go to wedding fairs as I don't really need to spend time promoting the business it seems to be going from strength to strength.

So guys what's yr thoughts....

Do I still spend money on the open day....free gifts, promotional pens, mini solar oils, gift bags etc

Or

Do I just give them big smiles and gift of the gab???

Comments please geeks would be much appreciated x x x x x x x x x x x

So I tried this today...shellac with minxlusion rose cut into strips with shellac top coat over the top...lets see if it lasts...
