Nail jewellery

Hiya guys
I have a client who wants a nail jewl on her nail rite I'm doing Gelish on her but if I nail drill the nail before then put Gelish over that will cover hole ,
Then if I do it over the Gelish would this crack it x

Could you hand drill the hole first, then apply Gelish, poke a pin through the Gelished 'hole' to try and keep it open, then cure?
If you needed you could probably re drill the hole and hopefully it wouldn't crack.
