Need help with colours!

Hi i am 2 months away from qualifying my nvq level 2 and now i am doing more in the salon to get prepared, but i really struggle with picking colours for some reason i have a real big fear that im gonna turn someones hair a bad colour i just wondered if theres any pointers that you guys use to help me?

Make sure you know your technical manual back to front.
When doing a consultation, make sure you study the hair thoroughly and ask all relevant questions, the more you know, the easier the choice will be.

And most importantly, look at the natural regrowth, coloured hair, If any, and then decide on your target colour...using the tones and bases you have, you can decide on the tones, bases and peroxides needed to achieve your desired result

yeah it does make sense ive been told that previously i guess practice makes perfect and just gotta keep practicing it as technical as that!
