Heya,
Iv been asked by a family friend to do a talk/demo on skincare and makeup for 25 teenage girls at her youth group she runs.
I have a few little questions as I have never done anything on a large scale before.

How much do I charge for something like this? I dont even know where to start.

I wanted to demo how to remove your makeup properly and talk about how you know what products to do buy for your skin type. I was then going to get the girls to practice this on each other. Is there any other things I can include like mini treatments that will be quick enough to do on all 25 girls I can bring my sister along how is a beauty therapist for min manis?

Any help or advice would be great xx

Hi
I have just this sort of thing twice for a local private school. I was really nervous but got through it by having pleny of laughs along the way.
I too did skin care and make-up. I done a demo how to do a mini facial and got all the girls doing it to themselves. Then all the girls who wanted to, put their names in a hat for them to picked for a make up demo. Some of the girls were under 16 so I had to parental consent back for them to be involved. I also got some new clients from this too, a parent, a few of the older girls and a couple of teachers so I was really pleased.
Before i went i made up a bit of a "plan" of what I was going to do and when and just worked roughly around that. The most important thing is to make it fun, I had music on in the background and kept it all professional but relaxed if you know what I mean. I was on a school so I didnt want it to be too "classroomy". Anyway, hope this helps and all the best with it.:green:

Hi, I too have done something similar.I made up little cards with bullet points on and a few tips on skin care /make-up application/ false tan ect.I also used off the shelf products that where suited to their pocket ( rimmel ,collection 2000) so that the girls coulds go ang buy any products they wanted atfer the demo, without breaking the bank!

Thanks for the advice Im nervous and looking forward to it at the same. Im going to bring high street brands of skin care . I was going to give them a little leaflet on proper skin care routine and bullet points on how to diagnose their skin type and hopefully I will get a few more clients from it.
I will let you know how I get on Im making the final arrangments on Monday xx

Having a teenager myself, you would be surprised how good some of them are with make-up !Of course some will not be and you could cover the basics. How long will this talk/class be?
I would suggest that you do a Special Look as well if you have the time.
Lady Gaga Lightening Bolt sort of thing.YouTube have plenty on this.

Also ask them to bring a hair/head band and a tweezers! This way your sister can advise on how to do eyebrows and perhaps suggest that they start with a Professional EBT and continue that shape at home.Maybe a demo of an ebt and tint on one teenager(one eye only!!!) to see the difference it can make-then do other side.
Nice LOUD music -their kind -would be perfect when they are working.

I dont intend this in a bad way,but skincare at their age can be boring, they are always doing the wrong thing- picking and squeezing, and no amount of telling them how bad this is seems to work(Iknow!).

Could you not focus on how to cover up blemishes, they all seem to think they need inch thick makeup for this.A friend who is a MAC makeup artist showed my daugter that if she applied foundation with a brush, she only used a dot to achieve the same look.I had been saying for years that she wore too much foundation to no avail. The minute a professional said to use a brush-rocket science!
I think mini manis imo are too difficult with 25 of them-but it would be a fantastic 2nd class!!
