Hey all,

i have regularly visited this site and found the guidance on LCN really useful. My left toe nail had a fungal infection many years ago, and has never grown back normal. It's always been distorted and therfore i have always just stuck temporary tips for functions. Recently i decided to get acrylic tip again (closest to a normal looking nail i've had in a long time!!) but promised myself that i would return to the salon every 2 weeks to get it checked. Unfortunetly i hit my nail and had to have the nail removed. I've been advised by the chiropodist that LCN needs a base and will not work if you do not have some nail - is this true??? Can somebody please help me as to what i can do with my absent toe nail - my self confidence has been greatly affected by this and would do ANYTHING for half a decent looking toe!!!

HELP ME PLEASE!

Would it be possible for you to take a photo of the toe so we can see exactly what is there and then we would be able to give you better advise

You do need some nail to attach the gel to - we now have toenail reconstruction on our price list because so many customers ask for it.

Years ago we had a client with no toenail. Sadly she died of cancer :(

She was going to a wedding and wanted to wear open toed shoes. I custom fit some nail tips and literally glued the tip to the skin.
I gave her some spare ones just incase, but the glued one lasted the day and looked good for the wedding.

hope this helps
