Hi there

I did NSI acrlyic course. Can't say I was impressed with the course and it's tutors. When I went to NSI in Scotland's base for a trade show recently there were showing lots of techniques etc that I wasn't shown

One area where I feel I have no confidence is when the client is a nail biter. They said I should blend the nail tip then use a mask powder. The course never covered this!!

I now use the NSI Attraction range with the new express tips which are white so I use the radiant pink powder and don't have to use any white - the white of the tip shines through - it looks really natural.

What powder from the Attraction range would be good for nail biters and is there any technique someone would recommend for nail biters where there is literally hardly any nail plate?

As I offer a lot of treatments I don't do acrylics every day which is maybe part of the problem - I don't come across lots of different nails to get the experience to know what to do in every situation!!

Hiya ... I don't know what the NSI training is all about but personally i think it would be impossible to cover ALL aspects in 1 course....maybe they do a advanced course or trouble shooting...??

I didn't learn EVERYTHING on my course but didn't expect to either....i picked alot of things up later on...bit of trial and error.......but should i feel i am struggling on something then a additional course would be booked.

For nail biters I use a natural tip and blend....i cut the tips very short....as close to the skin as my tip cutter will allow....then file down some more....dont be shocked at how short they look...french will automatically make them look longer and for a nail biter the shorter the better.

Then i use a coverage gel/powder and hide the natural smile line...then apply white gel/powder where i think will look best to give a longer looking nail bed.

as angie said you cant be taught everything all at once as you need to learn the basics first and then progress to other things.
nsi do allsorts of different courses so im sure you would be taught these things amongst other things in another course.
you would need to use pink masque powder form the attraction range to hide imperfections etc... but i would also do what angie said and cut the tips down as far as i could and then file them to get them quite short as this will help the client to get use to them quicker and make them less likely to have breakages etc...
try not to be in such a hurry to learn everything at once,i understand that you dont fell confident but this will come in time and with experience not just by what you know and have learnt.
ive learnt so much since i qualified that if i had had done it all at once i wouldnt have remembered a thing.you never stop learning new things and im sure you will also have ideas of your own on what to do in certain situations so just get to grips with the basics first and then you can progress to what ever level you want to be,just take your time.x
