Hello :)

Hoping someone out there can help me as at the moment I am bewildered as to what I've done wrong !

I applied a set of Balance Gel Extensions to my own nails 2 weeks ago, no lifting (hoorah!) but obviously needed infilling, so yesterday I had some spare time to fix my own nails. . . . . .

I did everything as I thought I should, I finished the infill procedure at about 1pm, but by 4pm 5 fingers had lifting round the edges and by 5.30pm 4 fingers just peeled off ! Its bizarre, it was almost like it wasn't stuck down, they 'old' gel was still stuck firmly underneath, just the infill and new overlay of gel peeled straight off in one piece !

Anybody got any ideas why this has happened? the other nails are fine, two have started to lift a bit today but not peeled.

Im bamboozled ! :)

Can you list the steps and products used? We might be better able to trouble shoot something then.

When was the last time you changed the bulbs in your lamp?

Hello,

Ok,

I filed area to be infilled and buffed over whole nail, I removed dust & used Nail Pure, I then applied Balance Primer over whole nail & let it dry for 2 mins, next I applied thin layer of Balance Builder Clear, cured for 2mins, left sticky layer, applied 2nd thicker layer, cured for 2mins, removed sticky layer with cleanse, file into shape, wipe with cleanse, apply thin layer of finsh clear cure for 2mins, wipe with cleanse, done !

My lamp is almost brand new, only had it 2 weeks !

Did you remove all non living tissue from the nail plate before you did the rest of the prep?

Sorry, forgot to put that bit in !

I used Vanish Cuticle Remove & removed it all, wiped with a lint free wipe to remove residue

New Id forget to put something in !

Did you wash off the cuticle remover? then "scrub" with your nail prep? and did you make sure there was a tiny free margin around the cuticle area when you applied the product?

No, didn't wash it off, scrubbed it off with a lint wipe and then used Nail Pure to clean nail plate.

Made sure there was a margin, I really dont understand why it went wrong !

Could be that you didn't remove the cuticle remover thoroughly enough (made that mistake myself before now lol) can't think of anything else. If the product has lifted that soon then it wasn't attached in the first place HTH hun

I read through all the threads, and it does sound like there might have still been some Vanish lingering around the cuticle and sidewalls. It s best to use Cleanse and really scrub it around to completely remove the Vanish. Then lightly file the regrowth area to remove any non living tissue, then use Nail Pure Plus to dehydrate. Then once that is chalky white, apply Balance Bond liberally to regrowth area and wait a minute. It will not look chalky white. Your first layer of gel should e a thin lock in layer.....everything else you are doing looks good. Just curious, is the newly applied gel over the old gel peeling or just over the regrowth area?

Thanks for the tips, I will make sure I remove Vanish more thoroughly.

Rise.Carter, thanks for your reply, the gel is peeling off the old gel, it started lifting around the cuticle and then completly came away leaving the original gel behind
