every time i do a full set using white elation tips the gel comes off at the tip area about couple days after, i blogged my probs on here and people thougth could be not buffing the shine off the nail tip but have redone a clients full set to just recieve phone call its happend again, and i have just done a new customer today with a full set too so its bound to happen to her ... why is this happening - i am taking shine off tips now but the gel has just cracked off or has it chipped again on 4 of the nails just where the tip is,..... i cant believe it I am so upset - I have just started my own business renting an area of a salon and all these people are new customers.....any thoughts as to why this is happening?? puzzled!!!!!
i'm using gel yes, sticky base layer then builder gel, this is happening to every client I am doing a full set on ...its so strange i just cant get my head around it
Baileys, IMO try the following on your own nails and measure the results.
- lightly remove shine from tip with 240g file - careful not to remove too much of the white tip as you do not want to loose the opaqueness of the white. why? buffing is still creating a smooth surface.
- first layer, should be a thin layer of gel, make sure that you cap all edges
- build the shape of your enhancement in layers to ensure full curing, applying too thick will lead to the gel undercuring, ensuring each layer is capped. Make sure that your shape has an apex (half way between the cuticle line and the extension edge) and tappers evenly to the outline of the enhancement.
- when filing the extension edge, angle your file at the 45 degree angle so that you are not removing the gel at the end of the tip.
- finally is the gel enhancement service and length suit the activity level of your client.
Try this on yourself, If you are still having difficulties, I would suggest you contact your distributor and invest in a 1 on 1 training with their educator, your business will benefit from your new skills and you will have more confidence.
THT and have a good day, happy practicing
