What do nail techs mean when they refer to NSS?

I am a beauty therapist looking to train in nail enhancements, just reading threads comparing l&p to gel and NSS keeps popping up and I don't know what it means.

NSS is a Non Standard Salon - i.e little or no standards such as poor hygiene etc...put it in the search bar and loads will come up.
