hi
i've enrolled on nvq level 2 beauty therapy in september at college and thought i could start reading up about the different treatments i'm going to be doing before i start,
i've been looking on ebay and amazon for some cheap ones but i didn't realise there were so many different books!
which ones would you recommend?

i used the one called beauty therapy- the foundations (i think?) by lorraine nordman and i also have another book too your college will prob reccomend one anyway. x

thanks for your reply.
i'll ask the college when i start my course, i've been watching a few on ebay and they seem to be going quite cheap at the moment, thought i might get one for some summer reading (if we get anymore sun lol) x

I'd wait until you start your course as you will need to buy a kit and the foundation book will probably come as part of that - it did when I did it, dunno if it varies from college to college with their arrangements with suppliers but I'd have thought that was a standard item to be part of the kit - they will tell you where to buy it from and give you the appropriate codes to quote - don't spend any more than you have to ;-)

hi
thank you for your reply, i've just had my kit list and there werent any books on it, when i did nails at college i had to buy all my own books, it must vary from college to college.
i was looking on ebay at some secondhand ones because some were going for about £5!

Some of the second hand books may not have up-to-date standards in them so look for the publication date. you need something probably published after 2006 ish. If you have already enrolled at college you may have access to their Library where they will have a variety of books to lend then you can see which ones are suitable to buy.HTH

thanks for the tip, i didn't think about looking how old they are x
