Hi All
I have just been offered an amazing opportunity to gain my NVQ level 3. I'm 26 so thought an apprenticeship was no longer an option for me, so I am stunned to have been given this opportunity.
Now, I have googled away but can't seem to get my head around how this actually works. They said it would be one day a week in college and the rest in a salon. Can anyone who's done this please tell me what your day to day role was within the salon? Would I be going back to just shampooing and cleaning all day?
Also, I'm not a teenager anymore and have responsibilities so I am eager to get back to a 'real' wage ASAP. They said if I push myself I could be done in 6 months but it is usually a year. How long did it take you? Do you see six months as realistic, if I went to college an extra day each week, on one of my days off or something?
I don't know anyone who has done their level 3 this way before, so very confused as to how it works. Would love to hear how you found it
