The newer pic is much clearer, thanks.
I think that if you refine the nail more, bring in the sidewalls (the free edge is too wide) and shorten the nail then it would look totally different, much more sleeker.
Your smile's good, with a bit of tweaking at the 'ears' to make it sharper you'd be there. You're really not that far off, the refining and tweaking will do the trick. I'd love to see another pic once you'd done that, just so that we (and you) can compare the difference :green:
I've copied the pic and added pointers :wink2: Violet Star's agreed for me to add the pic to the thread to show where the sidewalls need refining more.
Hope it helps a bit.
edit to add: Forgot to say... you can see the dips in zone 2, the free edge sidewalls are bulging out, this is where you need to refine, file straight down and this will make them 'unbulge'.
your certainly well on your way now with the help sandi has given you,the nail looks 10 times better and im sure you'll be able to see and correct more of the problems you were having now.
the only thing i will say is that the surface looks like its still quite scratched but once again this is easily fixed with higher grit file/buffer.
i agree that you have done a fab job, well done.
and the pics are much better thanks.x
i didnt do much but your welcome hun,of course your not a bad technician we all had to start somewhere and you obviously really want to learn and improve which is important.i look forward to seeing your progress.xxThank you so much hun  Really appreciate your comments and im glad im not a bad nail technician. In a few days i will grab the hands of my mum and do a full set.I have learnt allot from sandi today so thanks to both of you
Most definitely :green:the nail looks 10 times better and im sure you'll be able to see and correct more of the problems you were having now.
Most definitely :green:
Well done VS, and keep the pics coming
When you do your next set, make sure that you don't use too much product in zone 1, keep it nice and thin, it's easier to add more than it is to take it away.Thank you gosh you dont realise how glad i am to hear this :green:
Im going to do a full set some time over the coming few days xx

When you come to finishing and shaping, hold your abrasive vertically (straight up the side) on each sidewall and you'll see straight away where you need to file, similarly to the thick black lines on the pic.
