well done for being brave and posting but the picture is far too blurry for a critique.do you have a macro setting on your camera? its a little flower symbol this will allow you to take good close up pics.
sorry hun.x

Well done on posting for critique so soon after qualifying.

The pic's too blurred to give a 'full' critique of the nail, but the things that I can see are:
A wobbly line of light, this means that you need to concentrate more on finishing, making sure there aren't any uneven surfaces, ie high and/or low points.
The white's far too long compared to the nailbed, IMO anyway :wink2:
The free edge seems to be too wide, make sure you are filing straight up the sidewalls and not at an angle, and ensure you don't make the enhancement too wide in the first place.

With some refining/shortening this nail would look a lot sleeker

Thank you very much for your advice i will take this on board.

Im just going to upload a new clearer picture

The newer pic is much clearer, thanks.

I think that if you refine the nail more, bring in the sidewalls (the free edge is too wide) and shorten the nail then it would look totally different, much more sleeker.

Your smile's good, with a bit of tweaking at the 'ears' to make it sharper you'd be there. You're really not that far off, the refining and tweaking will do the trick. I'd love to see another pic once you'd done that, just so that we (and you) can compare the difference :green:

Thanks very much its so much appreciated to get a good honest opinion
I shall go fix it up now follow your advice and take another photo of the new and hopefully improved nail

Refined my mistakes and have uploaded a new pic

I've copied the pic and added pointers :wink2: Violet Star's agreed for me to add the pic to the thread to show where the sidewalls need refining more.

Hope it helps a bit.

edit to add: Forgot to say... you can see the dips in zone 2, the free edge sidewalls are bulging out, this is where you need to refine, file straight down and this will make them 'unbulge'.

Added a new pic x

your certainly well on your way now with the help sandi has given you,the nail looks 10 times better and im sure you'll be able to see and correct more of the problems you were having now.
the only thing i will say is that the surface looks like its still quite scratched but once again this is easily fixed with higher grit file/buffer.
i agree that you have done a fab job, well done.
and the pics are much better thanks.x

When you do your next set, make sure that you don't use too much product in zone 1, keep it nice and thin, it's easier to add more than it is to take it away.

When you come to finishing and shaping, hold your abrasive vertically (straight up the side) on each sidewall and you'll see straight away where you need to file, similarly to the thick black lines on the pic.

once again great advice sandi.x
good luck hun with your next set and i look forward to seeing more pics.x
