after a few months of thinking about transferring over to an online booking system ive done it and cant get over at the success already.

Thanks to salongeek for helping me find the one!!

I already have a website set up already that i manage myself and did not want to commit to the larger more expensive salon system companies. so to find one that perfectly embeds into my own website is fantastic and at such a low cost £10 per month

Their customer service is excellent i have to say quick responses to any queries or requests i had in setting it up.

So highly reccommended is :)
Appointment-Diary.com - Online Appointment Diary and Scheduling Software

please take a look

I use bookfresh.com and its made my business go from being steady to always busy. Clients love to book in their own time at night and Sundays. Def worth trying it.

Please tell me I missed something here - I went to view the online demo and I got 404 "File Not found" error - then I clicked on 'about us' and 'contact us' - and there's not even a postal address!

How can I trust setting up a recurring payment to someone who won't tell me their postal address?

Bookfresh looks like a much safer option, Mr King

well i only have nothing but good to say about the company. everyone has to start somewhere and everything working fine for me. massive intake of new client sso something is working. at the end of the day any co you pay money to has the risk element.

i only posted this thread as i wanted to mention what a wonderful experience i've had. in researching before commiting to this company nevr came across the bookfresh crowd to compare

Missed this thread first time round so pleased it's came back to the top.

First things first, Thank you very, very much Nikki :)

Second, thank you TheBackandBeyond you have pointed out something we never even considered, if you feel like this then I'm sure others out there have! So as we are due to update our site, we will add our contact address :)

I'm sorry you got 404 errors, we have investigated but no faults have been found? We will continue to look into this so others don't have this experiance. It is our hope that we can change your mind about us and we will do everything we can to do so. Like they say "If you don't have trust in any relationship, you don't have a relationship"

Bookfresh does look good on the outside but when you go deeper and compare the two you will see one is designed specifically for the hair and beauty industry and therefore gives a much better customer experiance.

Hi,

Good on you for including a postal address (and UK limited company number?). If I'm going to buy online - I always check these things. I can't see if your payment pages are secure, but I hope they are?

A privacy statement would be good too; I'm sure you're not - but are you going to sell my personal details to a mailing company? Also some form of SLA to indicate the resilience of your systems. What happens when you have a power cut - or someone cuts through your Internet connection - no access to your server means “no service”, right?

Lastly, how much it's going to cost me to call a pesky 0844?

Thanks for the update - it does show you're listening. Oh, and the 404 persists - will send a respectful PM - rather than 'having a go' here!

Cheers, Jason.

Hi Jason, thank you again for your posts you certainly keep us on our toes :)

Yes, a Company Number will now be added too.

Although we are hit in the pocket by using PayPal, we know this is one of the most recognised and accepted forms of secure payment.

We are registered under the Data Protection Act (something else we will add), we will NEVER sell or pass on personal details. That's a promise!

At first we invested in servers but soon realised we needed to work with a professional UK hosting partner, the SLA (again something we will publish) is 99.95% and works on a load balance principle i.e. if one server goes down or if there is a power cut at one location another server kicks in or in the case of a power cut another loaction.

0844 numbers are local call costs (some are included in free call plans), however we incur the costs of any calls. We will however call anyone who e-mails a call back request (hmm another feature to add)

We will always listen and improve as a result. We thank you very much for your feedback.

Hey Nikki

Thank u, thank u, THANK U 4 starting this thread!

Didn't realise this existed and can't wait to get it. It'll save me so much time

Mark

Just a quick question.

Not everyone in my salon offers the same thing, does the booking system accomodate this?

Many thanks

Yolanda

Hi Yolanda,

Yes, all you need do is add or remove staff from Services as you see fit, the diary will then only display the treatments you have allocated to each staff member. This can be updated at anytime.

Hi Mark.

We are not computerised at all at the moment. How would you run this system to tally when booking clients in via the salon, say when you have a walk in?
Would we use the system via the same route as a client?

Cheers

Hi Donna,

Yes both salon staff and clients use the same route, clients just have much more limited access i.e they can book and cancel within time limits you set.

Without computer access at the salon this can prove difficult, although we have salons who use mobile phones such as the iphone and Blackberrys which have email and Internet access.

hi i am a one man band and im running the system with my self employed nail tech. so clients see a seperate column for her and when setting up u can select which therapists offer what.

great for if you want to run a salon offer with only one therapist.

nothing but praise for this system and mark who has answered or adjusted any query i have come up against. ie adding extra treatment options so i could put threading on a treatment type of its own rather than being mixed up in waxing.

the price is fab for smaller salons like me, but the simplicity of it from a client point of view. clients are wanting to book there own appointments to give it a go. also noticed clients changing times of appointments more often than cancelling

i have a windows mobile phone so all email confirmations come straight through to me when out and about and at home.
:)

brill for when your too busy to answer the phone when in with clients. my phone is actually ringing less which is sometimes a worry but not when you see all email confirmations at end of day.
i've changed my answerphone message to tell potential clients that i offer this service so hopefully never lose a potential clients again

do go for this program. i love it and so encouraging to see the new clients coming through on it.

It would be great to have a deposit system, that cuts down dramatically on no shows!:)

i agree, i would be concerned about people not showing up. I suppose we book them in salon without a deposit and they turn up though.

Integration with a payment system like Google Checkout and Paypal would be a good idea, I think - as this would allow deposits to be taken at the time of booking if required (especially if this could be configurable on a per-client basis, e.g. long-standing clients who you can trust would not need to pay a deposit, but new clients would).

Hi Julesgems

As Nikki suggested we are working on PayPal integration for full payments, deposits and discounts that apply to individual clients. Without putting pressure on programmers we should be about 6-8 weeks away from launching with this. It may be a good idea to sign up for free to ensure you like the system and then when we launch we will let you know and you can decide then?
