out of area ... do you charge for petrol

Hi, i'm just starting out as a mobile therapist, & i'm wondering if you have a client out of your town, do you add a small charge for petrol?? Any advise would be appreciated

Thanks for replying so quickly.....I was going to put say £2.00 charge for out of area, not sure if thats a little cheeky, was going to put this on my price list's so people are aware (good idea??)

The problem lies when you add more on your prices. If you are mobile give an idea of the areas you cover in your website etc. if possible.
Otherwise you may get Ethel (in one area) talking to Gladys (in another area) and they get narky if you charge them different.

Thats a good point (this is why i love this site) do you mind me asking do you charge petrol, or just ask the same price for every area??

What i have done is i have said the areas i cover so if someone does ask me to come to them but is out of the area i can say thats not a problem at all but you are out of the area i cover but am happy to come to you for an extra £? to cover my travel expenses. Dont know if thats right or wrong but you cant sell you self short

Set youself a x mile radius.

For example travel around your area say, 5 mile radius for free and then add extra for each mile you go out of that 5 miles.

I think most people usually charge around 40p extra for each mile out of their area.
