Hi everyone i have recently noticed red blotches appearing on my thumb and spreading down to my wrist, which are always more noticable after preforming treatments at work. Also a pain that is mainly in my wrist (although not always present) also my thumb is painful during and after massage. I am not sure if anyone has experienced this before and what to do so it does not affect my work as its starting to becomes annoying. I have ruleed out any sort of allergic reaction as its only on my thumb and not the rest of my hand. Any advice welcome i am due to see my doctor at the end of the month but would appreciate and advice untill then. Thanks xx

Hi there darling

You will need to see you doctor about this is does sound like repetitive strain which will be a problem for you if massaging on a regular basis. I had to give up massage due to something similar, but better that than being in pain all the time with longer lasting damage.

See your GP and get a proper diagnosis!

Best wishes

Thank you for your reply i am hopefully going to see someone tomorrow. I have been thinking that it may be repetative strain but hoping it isnt as i love massage. Not a clue what to do if it is as me not doing any more massage at work will not go down well.
xx

Yer i never thought of learning new massage techniques. Thanks for the idea i shall look into it. I have damaged my tendons in both hands so hopefully if i rest them they will heal and be fine. xx
