I need your help ladies (and gents)! I have used spotted feathers embedded in gel with success, but I have a problem with peacock feathers. The feathers loose their beautiful color and go a dark colour when the gel is applied to them (like they'd look when wet). Has anyone found something to pre treat them with to allow them to keep their beautiful colour in a nail? Help! Thank you in advance! Thousands of heads together are better than one!:)

No idea really but have you tried to coat with resin or top coat and letting dry before applying the gel,
just an idea for you to try

Like loubylou just said have you tryed with diffrent top coats ect, i havent tryed with peacock feathers but i am wondering if maybe something really quick drying might help? so it dosent soake into it to quickly, or maybe something to protect it first (hair spray?) dont know what the affect of that would be with the gel though, (prob not good)
alot of the cheep earings that look like peacock feathers are "fake" maybe they would keep the shine?
if all this fails you could always use a little opelesent paint over the feather !

I've wondered the same thing, although I havnt gotten around to trying it yet! Maybe I'll try it with L+P and see how I go!

Thanks all.. I have tried using hairspray first and get the same result... a dark wet looking feather with no colour! :rolleyes:lol... was wondering if a suede pretreat would work or if there is some kind of craft spray anyone could suggest? thanks again, and let us know how it works with L&P when you try it!
