Hi geeks,

Feeling a little dusty and need to get my books out for some refreshing of my knowledge!

My brother has asked me what this is and what to do and embarrassingly I don't know what's best !!

He has had it for about 18months. He bites the nails and skin. It's pulls the nail from the nail bed (onycholysis?) it has never spread but is on both thumbs with symmetrical placement. It starts white/clear like a blister then darkens like a scab he pics it off and the process starts all over again!

Is it fungal? Can a more experienced knowledgeable geek help me please?xx

I'm not sure what this is, but I do think it might be a good idea for him to get it checked over by the gp. To be on the safe side.
