Plum to brown and caramel?

My sister-in-law has used the xxl live plum colour on her hair. Its quite a deep plum. So she wants to go the same as the pic. Would anyone suggest just using a colour reducer and then put slices of blonde with bleach and base between or would you try a bleach bath?
I seem to getgood results from reducing but as soon as I put a colour on top it goes back dark even using 2 shaded lighter than target shade?

Id try a bleach bath first depending what colour she was before she put the plum on xx

Was a dark red. 4.66 and before that light blonde. Wot vol do you use with bleach bath? X
