Hi girls, can any mobile spray tan therapists tell me what you do regarding keeping the base of the tent clean during a spray tan visit and what you do to clean away excess lotion before packing up and leaving client? Im just practising on friends at the minute so have used couch roll which isn't ideal. I intend to use sticky feet to avoid cross infection when i start charging but i just wasn't sure how to get rid of tan falling to the base. can you advise

Hiya i use two black towels for the clients to stand on and when you have finished spraying all you have to do is fold them up and pack away in your bag, quick and easy :). I clean my tent down at home, not at the clients house. HTH :)

thanks for that - sorry for my ignorance but do you use sticky feet for clients aswell and have the towels there mainly to keep tent fairly clean? what do you do if you have a few clients one after the other?

I don't use sticky feet, like the others I use a black towel, bought a load of them of the market, they stand on the towel, when we're finished I fold the towel up, give the back and sides a quick swipe down with the towel, and chuck it in my bag, if it's a party then I get a fresh one out for the next client. Once home they going into my machine on a 60% wash. Job done.
Oh and once home, that's when the tent gets it's proper clean, I can take my time and if I fall over in it no one can see me make a t*t of myself:lol:

How much overspray are u getting? If it's a lot then you need to turn your gun down.
If you use a good quality couch roll folded individually for each foot, place them directly on the vinyl bottom of the booth. Then apply your clients feet bottoms with moisturiser. They will stick to the couch roll and move freely on booth base. If you put the towel on the floor you cant move freely and you have unnecessary cleaning. We do suggest a towel for them to step out of the booth onto though. You can then show their foot pattern on the couch roll, therefore no orange heels!!

Then use the couch roll to clean the back of the tent ( shouldnt be too much mess)
When your tent is really dirty, hose it down in the garden and leave to dry

Im with Susie on the sticky feet issue. If you dont get all the glue off the bottom of the feet they put their shoes on and take the insole off their shoes. messy business

I use two black towels (one bath size that I put at back of tent and one hand size that client stands on) I cover the hand size towel (that the client stands on) with couch roll (making sure it wraps right underneath the towel). When finished I wipe the front of the base with the back of used couch roll (the back of base is relatively clean because large bath towel has protected it). Like Susie H I bought a load of them at a market - make sure they are black colour. Once a week I put the tent into my bath and hose it down completely (turning it upside down and back to front - easy to do as it is very flexible) and then leave to dry (a couple of hours) - it comes up sparkling (I used to manually scrub it but it was time consuming and back breaking).

Hope this helps!

thanks for advice girls - really helpful - xx

HI all, just wondering, when you geekies use a towel on the base, how does a client not get tan on the soles of their feet from some overspray...i dont have much overspray but still some that would have tan on the soles......

i use the couch rol, moisturise the soles routine as mentioned above, am intrigued as the towel method may save me couch roll !!!!
