I've seen a number of threads in the past about recipies for custom blended colours/ glitter mixes etc. and thought it might be an idea to try and post them all in one thread, so they are easily accessible - rather than trawling through lots of posts for ideas/recipies.

I have recently achieved a sparkly pale pink using Creative powders:

3 parts City of Peace
1 part White
1/2 part Spanish Tile

I'll take a piccy and post in the gallery at some point so you can see the colour.

Karren just posted on another thread a recipie for natural looking enhancements that I will nick to add here (also using Creative powders):

3 parts Soft white
3 Parts Natural
1 Part Clear

Hands down the best base formula for a custom blended manicure colour for Zone 2 and Zone 3 (opaque) is:

2 part Perfect Colour White to 3-4 parts Flawless Pink
1/8 part Melting Pot
1/16 scoop Spanish Tile
(if you want to cut the coolness) - 1/8 scoop Golden Glass

THats my fave base for Zone 2 and Zone 3

Here's my recipe for a sheer and subtle sparkle pink -

3 parts twilight
4 parts perfect colour pink
1 part intense pink

Or for an opaque sparkle pink-

3 parts twilight
2 parts flawless pink
2 parts perfect colour pink
(to brighten slightly) 1 part intense pink

How on earth do you measure 1/16 scoop ?

allrightallright - Im busted.

Actually - Custom blending isnt such an exact science. 1.16 is like a sprinkle depending on how much 'other stuff' you put in ;)

Hey Bryony,

Great thread!!!!

I don't have anything to add to it!!!!! But I am always up for a good new recipe......and these are all fat free!!!!! :lick: :wink2:

When using the metro and mosaic colours on their own it's always a good idea to add a little clear powder, the colours are really intense so it won't dilute them it will just help them to go a bit further

This is a great thread.....just what i am looking for!
I got my kit home last week....... opened it up and .....eeeeeeeeek!...
.......put it away again!
I didnt have a clue where to start.
I had a little play around tonight with some of the colours, which are great but i need to know what to mix with what!
So im jotting all these recepies down and i will give 'em a go.

Just one question.......how do I know what mix will suit what skin tone?
For example.....what mix would best suit my pale milky white skin tone or
Mrs xyz lovely olive skin or Mrs xyx skin which is black????

Help!

Here are some of my personal favs: very safe and pretty much useful on anyone.

Someone pale with deep pink nail beds:

2 parts flawless
1 part intense pink

This is a lovely candy pink (similar to romantique by CND)

someone with more of a tan and warm nail beds:

2 parts flawless
1 part perfect pink
1 part twilight/ soft white (sparkle or non)
1/8th Terra cotta
1/16 Melting pot (if they have deep brown tan)
