i have been reading a lot of threads on rebalance pricing the same as the full set, and even stop doing infills.
Should i charge more for pink and white (with foils and tips)and less for say a clear overlay using a white tip??

i hope this page isnt too long and would appreciate all help offered.:):)

I can't really comment on whether your prices are suitable for your local market. Prices vary across the country depending on demand. I charged a lot more when I lived in Essex than I charge at the where I am now because nail enhancements aren't as popular and people are a bit slower to part with their cash. I would rather do cheaper sets of nails with more clients until I establish myself at least.

I charge more for white/glitter tips than I do for plain.

As for increasing your prices, it can be very difficult. Whenever I have introduced a price increase, I usually phase it in with my current clients and give my current clients a 3-month notice. If they are particularly good regular clients, I may also consider keeping them at my old prices. But for all new clients I would charge your increased prices right away.

Hi, I am going through the same thing at the moment, I was far too cheap when I started out mobile and i've only made slight increases in the past few years.
I'm putting some things up as much as £3.00 if I dare! but again I feel the products I use now are alot better and I have 11 years experience and surely that should be reflected in the price!
My prices at the minute are:
Silk wraps with tip £25
Infills £15
Manicure £11
Pedicure £13
Mini ped £7.50
Half leg £8
Bikini £5
etc etc
I find it really difficult putting prices up and keep putting it off!

Skill and experience should matter in the nail industry and should be reflected in the prices charged. However, I find that it unfortunately isn't the case in general because most people are so ignorant in what to look for in a good nail technician. In fact, most people don't even think about where they go, the just follow after the majority to the nearest and often the cheapest nail bar they come across.

Before I relocated, I could charge according to my skills because nails services were very popular and in demand and I had a waiting list for my services. However, now that I have relocated, the market is extremely different and people don't really know the difference between a good and bad service, not until they come to me of course. Can't wait until I have that waiting list again.:)

hi can anyone advise me wether i should take a nail art course which is costing £118 for 4 hrs training or gt 1 ov those dvds and learn myself im opening salon nxt mnth and would like to learn this skill to offer to my clients please gt bk to me thanx

Hi, thats the unfortunate thing now that nails can be cheap but not necessarily good!! I had a client asking for a discount because she wanted a couple of sets done, some people think that its a hobby for me when its actually my bread and butter.!

Hi you may find that you dont get many replies as you have joined my thread instead of starting your own. It depends on how much you know about extensions, if you have a great knowledge of nails then you may be able to learn from the DVD, i went and done a nail art course which cost me £150 all in but i got coloured acrylics as part of it. To be honest with you and this is only my experience, a lot of people tend to stick to the gems they dont go OTT with them. You can get fab coloured tips and add glitter to them, thats v popular where i am. HTH.
